The Lost Archive publishing app
An internal tool that uses the official TikTok Content Posting API to publish our own original videos to our own account — and nothing else.
The Lost Archive is operated by a single team. To keep our publishing schedule consistent, we built an internal tool that posts our finished documentaries directly to our own TikTok account, @the_lost_archive1, through TikTok's official Content Posting API. The app is not a public product — it is used only by us, on our own account.
1 · We create
We produce an original ~60-second documentary in-house. The script, voiceover, and visuals are all our own work.
2 · We authorize
We sign in with our own TikTok account and grant our own app permission to post videos on our behalf (video.publish).
3 · We publish
The app calls the Content Posting API to upload the finished video and post it directly to our own channel — no manual re-upload.
What the app accesses
The app requests only the permissions required to publish to our own account:
- An authorization token for our own TikTok account, granted explicitly by us.
- Basic account info (our own username / channel ID) to confirm the correct destination account.
- Public performance metrics of our own published videos, shown on our private dashboard.
What the app does not do
- It does not read, collect, sell, or store data belonging to any other TikTok user, viewer, or follower.
- It is not offered to third parties — there are no other users of the app.
- It does not post to any account other than our own.
